It is a privilege for me, as the developer of Wilgeheuwel Retirement Village to use this opportunity to extend my gratitude to you for showing interest in our village.

This is the fourth retirement village of its kind done by the same developer. The other villages in the Belvedere Group are the Jubilado Retirement Village situated in Blouberg Street, Noordheuwel, Krugersdorp, the Sterlig Retirement Village situated in Naboom Street, Wilropark ( on property of the old Sterlig drive-in theatre) and the Jakaranda Retirement Village situated in Hans Street, Honeydew. You are more than welcome to visit these villages to see what we offer.

Wilgeheuwel is an open spaced village designed for your retirement, with all the facilities and security you may require.

Wilgeheuwel is situated in Roodepoort with a very moderate climate, overlooking the scenic countryside with Magaliesberg in the distance, yet so close to a range of amenities.

The Village is situated in Gauteng, 18 km from Johannesburg, 60 km from Pretoria, 70 km from Rustenburg and 40 km from the Hartebeestpoort dam. Sports facilities in the area include: bowling clubs, golfing, country club, tennis etc.

Most convenient are the gyms within minutes from the village. For the nature lovers: Trout fishing, the Rhino Park, Lion Park, Bird Farm, Sterkfontein- and Wonder Caves and Krugersdorp Game Reserve are within easy reach. Wilgeheuwel has a full range of shopping malls: Clear Water, Westgate, Northgate, Princess Crossing, Cresta within 1km from the village. Wilgeheuwel Hospital renders a 24 hour service and is a mere 1,5 km from the Village with doctors, dentists, physiotherapists, a pharmacy etc. Churches, representing the majority of denominations, are in a radius of 5km from the Village.

Security

Every unit will have security doors in front and at the back door, cottage pane windows with burglar bars and an alarm system for your security. A 1.8m brick wall with an electrical fence on top will be constructed on the perimeter of the village. The street front will have a 1.8m palisade fence with electrical wire. This electrical fence will be monitored by a security company. There will also be security lighting and automated security gates to provide the peace of mind you would expect from a village such as ours.

Investment

Buying at Wilgeheuwel is a safe way to retire. Furthermore, the title deed of Wilgeheuwel Retirement Village(PTY)Ltd is endorsed to comply with the requirements of the Act on Housing Schemes for Retired Persons, Act 65 of 1988. You are ensured of the protection by the Judicial System.

Medical Care

Several 24 hour day clinics are within the immediate proximity of the Village, medical care is just a phone call away. Resorts are under pressure to keep levies at affordable levels and more and more resorts are closing down internal medical facilities to contain escalating costs. A private caring nursing facility will be provided at Wilgeheuwel Retirement Village on request by the occupants. This facility will be paid for by the individual user and will therefore not impact on the levy.

Levies

We are totally committed to curbing costs and you can be assured that escalating levies are contained. The residents have a full say in the drafting of budgets and utilisation of funds raised through levies. You are therefore ensured that you have full access to the financial management of the Village.

Maintenance

The units consist of semi-face brick dwellings which really provide high quality finishes and low maintenance. Gardens are maintained. Should you go on holiday, you can rest assured that your garden will be cared for, regarding the mowing of lawns and trimming of edges.

Social Activities

A community centre is planned and will comprise of a large hall, offices, dining facilities and kitchen. This facility will be for the use of the residents only and you will have a say in the utilization of it.

Tranquility

Walkways are planned and will also be for the exclusive use of the residents. You will be able to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature.
